The climate of the region is markedly continental. Summers are hot, while winters tend to be cold. In addition, the vineyards receive winds from the south, but they arrive without humidity. For this reason, rainfall is scarce in winter and summer, while vineyards usually receive the most precipitation in spring and autumn.
Alluvial and sandy soils predominate in this DOC. Part of these soils were generated by ancient fluvial deposits hundreds of years ago.
