The Lambrusco Mantovano DOC, located in the Tuscany wine region, is divided into two subzones: the Oltre Po Mantovano area to the right of the Po River and the Viadanese-Sabbionetano area between the rivers Oglio and Po.

The climate of both areas is characterized by average summer temperatures exceeding 22° C with sultry summer conditions, high humidity, fog in the autumn-winter period and harsh winters with return of frost in spring.

The outcropping soils are of alluvial origin. The morphology presents irregularities, with surface drainage decreasing from higher to depressed areas. At depth, clayey banks and coarse sand levels are present.
